Honda took an everyday coupe and turned it into what many still call the greatest front-wheel-drive performance car ever made.

The DC2 Type R's engine was hand-finished and screamed well past 8,000 rpm. Weight was stripped out, the chassis was stiffened and a limited-slip differential was fitted, so it could hunt down cars with far more power.

It became a legend on track days and in tuner culture alike, and clean, unmodified examples now command collector prices.
