The S2000 arrived in 1999 to celebrate Honda's 50th anniversary, built around an engine that rewrote the rules. Its 2.0-litre four-cylinder screamed to an 8,800 rpm redline and made more power per litre than any other naturally aspirated mass-production car for more than a decade.

Mounted behind the front axle for a perfect 50:50 weight distribution, it delivered a connection between driver, engine and road that few cars have matched.

A decade of production, no direct replacement, and a following that has only grown. Clean, original examples are now some of the most sought-after Japanese roadsters.
